To be fair, the one place I appreciate having the proprietary wireguard apps is with my Android TV, for which there is no generic wireguard app (at least not without resorting to sideloading, which I've never attempted). I think there are other firms that offer solid "unenhanced" wireguard as well. Several of us have done well with AzireVPN and KeepSolid using straightforward dd-wrt setups. Maybe we as a community should just ignore the VPN firms offering proprietary "wireguard" that won't play well with standard implementations. Those need to be fixed FIRST! I think even WireGuard developer states that by itself, WireGuard isn't as good as privacy as it is at security. Mullvad mitigates WireGuard privacy issues by destroying client logs after 24 hours and NordVPN uses Double NAT method to obfuscate client information.
